McCracken County Senior Center hosts free health clinic for ages 55+

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – McCracken Senior Center hosts a free health fair in Paducah.
“Partly for socialization, and partly to do good things in our community,” said Kathie Hunt.
The event is put together by the retired senior volunteer program, from the Paducah McCracken County Senior Center.
Hunt, with the Master Food Volunteers, says getting seniors involved with volunteer work can lead to a healthier lifestyle.
“We provide healthy foods, we have lots of recipes, snacks and it’s just a real rewarding thing to do,” added Hunt.
Thirty different vendors participated in the event and one of them is the Lakes of Paducah.
“Turn out has been incredible,” said Laura Todino, the Director of Community Relations. “I’m always so amazed of how many seniors come out.”
Todino offers a free depression screening for seniors, saying older adults are at an increased risk for experiencing depression.
“This event is important because all the community providers, together under one roof, so many of us, even myself we’re learning of new services, the community has to offer,” said Todino.
Those services the public may not be aware of, but were able to find at the event.
