McCracken County Sheriff’s Office announces pet food drive collection totals

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has announced the results of its annual “Paws for a Cause” Pet Food Drive, which collected thousands of pounds of food and supplies to support local animal shelters across western Kentucky.
Collection Totals:
- Dog Food: 4,388 lbs.
- Cat Food: 2,717 lbs.
- Treats: 68 lbs.
- Cat Litter: 231 lbs.
Additional Supplies Donated:
- 3 collars
- 16 blankets
- 5 pet food bowls
- 6 pet beds
- 8 pet toys
- 1 container of laundry detergent

- Marshall County Humane Society

- Murray–Calloway County Shelter
- Humane Society of Calloway County
- Mayfield–Graves County Animal Shelter
The pet food drive took place Saturday, Nov. 8, at Rural King, 4711 Cairo Road in Paducah, where deputies collected donations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Monetary contributions were also accepted and used to purchase additional pet food. Donations were collected in advance at the McCracken County Courthouse to help reach the department’s goal of 10,000 pounds of food.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for its generosity and continued support of local animal welfare organizations.
