McCracken County Sheriff’s Office asks for help finding theft suspects

LONE OAK, Ky. (KBSI) – The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office asks for the public’s help finding people suspected of stealing from vehicles in the Lone Oak area.
Over the past week, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has fielded multiple reports regarding the theft of items from vehicles.
The majority of the incidents occurred in the dense residential neighborhoods of the Lone Oak area of McCracken County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Multiple video sources show a group of four to five people that appear to be younger males walking neighborhoods during the late overnight/early morning hours checking for unlocked vehicles.
On all recordings, the people appear to be wearing dark colored clothing, hooded sweatshirts with the hoods pulled up and facial coverings/surgical masks.
Upon finding an unlocked vehicle, the suspects enter and search for any items of value.
Multiple thefts of money, electronics, credit/debit cards and other items have been reported as stolen to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office asks for the public’s assistance in deterring these criminals by following this routine:
9 p.m. routine:
- Remove valuables from vehicles
- Lock vehicle doors
- Close the garage door
- Close and lock all exterior doors
- Turn on an exterior light
