McCracken County Sheriff’s Office completes eighth Citizen Academy class

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has completed its eighth Citizen Academy class, providing participants with an in-depth look at the duties and operations of the agency.

Attendees received presentations from multiple divisions, including the Patrol Unit, Training Unit, SWAT, K-9 team, Drone Team, Drug Unit, and the General Investigation Unit. Signet Federal Credit Union also presented information on scam prevention, and Coroner Amanda Melton discussed her role and responsibilities.

The program concluded with guided tours of the Sheriff’s Office, the McCracken County Jail led by Jailer Stephen Carter, and the county’s 911 Telecommunications Center with Ariana Kitty and Taryn Reed.

The Sheriff’s Office thanked all participants and presenters for contributing to the program’s continued success.

Information about the 2026 Citizen Academy will be posted mid-year for those interested in enrolling.
