McCracken County woman located and arrested on child abuse charges

PADUCAH, KY (KBSI) – McCracken County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by an out-of-state children’s hospital in January, 2024. A three-year-old female had arrived at the hospital with broken bones and injuries consistent with abuse. After a lengthy investigation, the child’s biological mother was located and arrested in Ballard County. Jessica Banton is booked in McCracken County Regional Jail on the following charges:

  • Assault 1st Degree
  • Criminal Abuse 1st Degree (victim under 12 years of age)

Banton is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
