McLeansboro man arrested on predatory criminal sexual assault charges of a child under 13

MCLEANSBORO, Ill., (KBSI) — Tristin Cain, 27, of McLeansboro, was arrested Wednesday on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13, authorities said.

The arrest followed an investigation that began May 23 after a juvenile disclosed being molested by a family member to a friend, officials said. A second victim was identified through a joint investigation with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Amy Schulz Child Advocacy Center.

Cain was interviewed Wednesday, and his statements reportedly confirmed the accusations, leading to his arrest. He is presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
