McLeansboro man facing burglary, theft charges for ATV theft

THOMPSONVILLE, Ill. (KBSI) – A McLeansboro man faces burglary and theft charges after the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary report.

Keith E. Redmon Jr., 27, of McLeansboro is charged with burglary and theft over $10,000.

On June 28, the sheriff’s office received a report from someone who lives in rural Thompsonville of a burglary that occurred at his/her home and involved the theft of a Polaris RZR.

Redmon was developed as a suspect.

He is known to frequent areas of Franklin County and was wanted on an Illinois Dept of Corrections Parole Violation Warrant.

Early on July 1, the sheriff’s office received an anonymous tip via the sheriff’s office mobile app that Redmon was at a home in rural Benton.

Sheriff’s deputies and Benton Police Department officers responded to the home, found Redmon and arrested him.

Keith Redmon Jr. is being held in the Franklin County Jail. Bond on the charges had not yet been set on Monday.

The Department of Corrections warrant has no bond.

The stolen Polaris was recovered before the arrest and has been returned to the owner.
