MDC to hold mandatory chronic wasting disease sampling

MISSOURI(KBSI) – The Missouri Department of Conservation is holding mandatory chronic wasting disease sampling during opening weekend of firearms portion of deer season.
Opening weekend is November 16-17, 2024.
CWD is a deadly, infectious disease in deer and other members of the deer family that eventually kills all animals it infects. The disease has been found in Missouri and is slowly spreading.
The Missouri Department of Conservation is testing for CWD and working with conservation partners to find cases of CWD and limit its spread.
