Medic One announces tragic loss of EMT

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI(KBSI) -The Missouri EMS Funeral Response Team has announced the loss of one of their EMT’s.
The team released a statement on their Facebook page saying 24-year-old EMT Hallie Gillis, with Medic One ambulance service in Kennett Missouri was traveling home after her shift when she was involved in a vehicle crash. According to the statement Hallie leaves behind a 16-month-old son, parents, siblings, grandparents’ numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Medic One wrote in a Facebook post “Hallie was the embodiment of enthusiasm, care, and compassion. Her unwavering dedication to her work and her eagerness to learn more about the world of EMS inspired us all. Hallie had a genuine passion for helping others and always went above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of those she served.”
In a written statement, Medic One Operations Manager Angela Frazier described Gillis as a compassionate and motivated EMT who quickly became a valued member of the team.
“Hallie was the kind of EMT every service hopes for — compassionate, motivated, and eager to learn. She had a true heart for caring for others and brought positivity and dedication to every shift,” Frazier wrote.
Frazier added that Gillis often studied between calls and arrived early to shifts to help prepare equipment, showing a strong commitment to improving her skills and providing the highest level of care for her patients.
According to Frazier, Gillis had also planned to continue her training through Medic One’s Advanced EMT program as she worked to build her career in emergency medical services.
