Melber man arrested, charged with theft, traffic offenses and marijuana possession

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Deputies responded to a report of an abandoned motorcycle in a driveway on County Line Rd. at approximately 5:43 a.m. Friday. The motorcycle was determined to be stolen after contact was made with its registered owner.

Joseph Wurth, 43, of Melber, was identified as a suspect and later confessed to taking the motorcycle after being interviewed by deputies. Further investigation revealed Wurth had a suspended operator’s license, and a quantity of suspected marijuana was found on him.

Wurth was arrested and taken to McCracken County Regional Jail. He faces charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition of a motor vehicle valued between $1,000 and $10,000, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, and possession of marijuana.
