Memorial bench honoring tornado victim vandalized at Mayfield park

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — The Mayfield Lions Club is seeking information after a memorial bench dedicated to a tornado victim was vandalized at Kess Creek Park.
The organization said the bench was dedicated to Jessie Cook, who died during the December 2021 tornado disaster that devastated the community.
Club members described the memorial as a place for remembrance and reflection for family, friends and community members affected by the tragedy.
The Mayfield Lions Club said it plans to repair the damaged bench and is asking anyone with information about the vandalism to come forward.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity at Kess Creek Park or has information about the incident is encouraged to contact local authorities or the Mayfield Lions Club.
