Memorial ceremonies to honor fallen Illinois officers set in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (KBSI) — The Illinois Police Officers Memorial and Memorial Committee will host memorial events in Springfield, including an interfaith service and a ceremony honoring fallen officers.
An interfaith ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave.
The memorial ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. at the Illinois Police Officers Memorial site on the west lawn of the Illinois State Capitol, 301 S. Second St.
Organizers said the events are open to the public.
Officials noted that parking will be unavailable throughout the Capitol complex and surrounding grounds during the events.
