Memphis man facing firearms charges in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A Memphis, Tennessee man faces firearms charges in Carbondale.
Carbondale police officers responded to the 1400 block of West Main Street on Tuesday, February 6 at 4:58 p.m. for a report of a man walking in the parking lot with a handgun.
Officers found Derrico D. Quinn, 34, of Memphis, Tenn. holding a handgun as described.
Officers ordered Quinn to drop the firearm. He did so and was arrested.
The firearm was found to have been reported stolen from Missouri.
Quinn faces charges of unlawful possession of firearm by a felon, possession of stolen firearm and unlawful use of weapon.
He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
