Mercy Hospital Southeast recognized for stroke care excellence

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Mercy Hospital Southeast has received the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for its commitment to providing high-quality stroke care.

The hospital earned the award by following up-to-date, research-based guidelines for treating stroke patients, resulting in more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer hospital readmissions.

“We’re proud to be recognized for the care we provide stroke patients,” said Mary Green-Brown, Mercy Hospital Southeast stroke program coordinator. “This award validates our stroke team’s commitment to providing quality, evidence-based care.”

Mercy Hospital Southeast also received the American Heart Association’s Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award for ensuring patients with Type 2 diabetes receive the latest evidence-based care when hospitalized for stroke.
