Metropolis man facing drug charges in Paducah after traffic stop

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Metropolis, Ill. man faces drug charges after a McCracken County Sheriff’s deputy pulled him over for a traffic stop.
Corporal Lamb with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on John L. Puryear Drive in Paducah around 1:30 a.m. on September 3.
Travis C. Blanton, 31, of Metropolis Ill. faces charges of no tail lamps, failure to produce insurance card, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine).
Corporal Lamb and K9 Vegas determined the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Suspected methamphetamine and marijuana was found inside the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
Blanton was arrested and lodged in the McCracken Regional Jail.
