Millions of dollars poured into a new Sports Complex in Paducah
PADUCAH Ky. (KBSI) – With these crisp fall days it’s the perfect time to sit with the family and watch a football game.
Paducah is pouring money into a huge Sports Complex worth millions.
Sixty-five million dollars is put to work as Kentucky keeps growing and growing.
Paducah Kentucky is breaking ground to start building the field of dreams for sports tourists.
Mayor George Bray says he tried to cover every sport inside and out so this can be a strong inclusive environment for tournaments and events.
“Soccer fields, football fields, softball fields, grandstands you know, places to see your kids play and so we’re going to tap into the sports tourism market,” said Bray.
Since the tornado in 2021, Paducah is seeing a lot of construction and repairs. Part of those efforts is a brand-new Sports Complex in Midtown.
“The sports complex is out in the Central Park town out by Noble Park more in Midtown,” said Bray.
The park will be 130 acres operated by Sports Facility Companies. Paducah Sports Complex is a member of the S-F Network and they’re expecting this construction to be complete in the fall of 2025.
“We started construction on our new outdoor sports park. It’s called Paducah Sports Park. It’s going to be completed in 2026,” said Bray.
This complex is projected to bring in 155 million dollars in just the first five years.
Mayor Bray says there’s more to develop in Paducah.
“Well, we have a riverfront development project that’s set to start off set to kick off. You know pretty soon so the combination of all these things make Paducah look very attractive,” said Bray.
Bray says this complex will represent the community pride and the commitment to athletic excellence.
