Mississippi man pleads guilty in 2021 Jackson, Mo. shooting

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Clifton D. Smith Jr., 30, of Oxford, Mississippi, pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder and first-degree assault in a 2021 shooting that killed one person and injured another at the Town House Inn.

Smith was sentenced by Circuit Judge Scott A. Lipke to 25 years in prison on each count, to be served concurrently. The Jackson Police Department investigated the case.
