Missouri Broadcasters Association honors outstanding broadcasters, presents annual awards

OSAGE BEACH, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Broadcasters Association presented its annual awards, inducted six new members into its Hall of Fame and honored several broadcasting veterans during its convention over the weekend.

The association presented 263 awards, including Station of the Year honors to KCLQ in Camdenton, KQRA in Springfield and KFKF in Kansas City for radio, and WGEM in Hannibal/Quincy, KYTV in Springfield and KCTV in Kansas City for television.

Bob Eckman of E-Communications, LLC in Thayer received the Lifetime Member Award, while Gerry Elam, longtime program director for Ozark Marketing Company in West Plains, received the Distinguished Broadcaster Award.

The MBA Hall of Fame inductees included Joe Buck, Bev Chapman, Ron Jacober, Jim Jackson, Dave Obergoenner and the late Si Siman.
