Missouri conservation agents patrol Current River as gigging season nears end

RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Missouri Department of Conservation agents are reminding anglers of gigging regulations as the season nears its end.
Agents recently conducted nighttime boat patrols on the Current River in Ripley County to enforce gigging laws. Officials said only non-game fish may be taken by gigging, including species such as yellow sucker. The daily combined limit for non-game fish is 20.
The Missouri Department of Conservation said the gigging season on streams closes at midnight Feb. 15.
