Missouri emergency teams prepare medical response plans for FIFA World Cup events

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency and the Missouri Disaster Medical Assistance Team are preparing for the upcoming FIFA World Cup by establishing medical support facilities near KC Stadium and Fan Fest.

State officials said MO DMAT-1 medical tents have been set up as part of ongoing planning efforts to support visitors, athletes and event personnel during the international tournament.

The preparations involve coordination among the Missouri Disaster Medical Assistance Team, the Kansas City Fire Department and local hospital partners to ensure emergency medical resources are in place.

Emergency management officials said the effort reflects months of planning and logistical coordination aimed at supporting public safety and medical response capabilities during one of the world’s largest sporting events.
