JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — Gas prices in Missouri have declined for the second consecutive week, according to AAA.

The statewide average for regular unleaded fuel is $3.61 per gallon, down 5 cents from last week but 75 cents higher than a year ago. The national average stands at $4.03 per gallon.

Among major metro areas in Missouri, drivers in St. Louis are paying the highest average price at $3.83 per gallon, while Joplin has the lowest at $3.40.

AAA officials said the recent decline offers some relief for drivers, though global oil market volatility continues to influence prices.

Crude oil prices remain elevated amid international tensions and supply concerns.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a decrease in gasoline inventories last week, which could impact prices in the coming weeks, AAA said.
