Missouri Governor calls special legislative session

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — Gov. Mike Kehoe on Tuesday announced a special legislative session to address recent storm damage, economic development and budget appropriations.

The session will convene June 2.

Kehoe’s call includes proposals for disaster relief, including tax deductions for storm damage and expanded funding for affordable housing.

He also seeks legislation to support economic development projects, such as athletic and entertainment facilities, citing the economic impact of Missouri’s professional sports teams.

Other proposals include extending tax credits for amateur sporting events and appropriating funds for university research projects.
