Missouri Governor offers condolences, support after deadly storms

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and First Lady Claudia expressed sorrow Friday over the deaths and injuries caused by tornadoes and severe storms that swept across Missouri.

“Our prayers are with all those impacted,” the governor said.

The governor thanked local first responders and state agencies, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, for their assistance.

The Missouri Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue team was deployed to St. Louis to aid in search efforts.

Residents were urged to avoid damaged areas to allow first responders to assist those in need and public works crews to clear debris.

The governor cautioned Missourians to closely monitor weather forecasts and follow local officials’ advice as additional storms were expected to move across the state Friday night.
