Missouri Public Service Commission to hold hearings on Ameren rate hike
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold public hearings starting Jan. 21 to gather comments on a proposed electric rate increase by Union Electric Company, doing business as Ameren Missouri.
Ameren Missouri has requested a rate increase of approximately $446 million, representing a 15.49% hike. Residential customers would see an average increase of 15.77%, or $17.45 per month.
The company serves about 1.2 million electric customers in Missouri.
Hearings will be held in person and virtually. The schedule includes:
— Jan. 21: Cape Girardeau, Osage Centre, Room 1AB, 1625 N. Kingshighway, 6 p.m.
Each hearing will begin with a public information and question-and-answer session, followed by public testimony.
