Missouri State Highway Patrol assists in death investigation in Ripley County

FAIRDEALING, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office in a death investigation after a woman was found dead early Monday at a residence in Fairdealing.
According to the Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control, deputies were called to the home around 12:20 a.m. for a report of a possible shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult female deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Investigators said the preliminary findings indicate no foul play and that there is no threat to the public. An autopsy is pending to determine the official cause of death.
The investigation remains ongoing by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.
