Missouri transfers $23.5 million from adult-use marijuana program to state agencies

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has transferred over $23.5 million in funds generated by the state’s adult-use marijuana program to various agencies.

The funds were allocated according to Article XIV, Section 2, of the Missouri Constitution and approved by House Bill 10.1035.

The recipient agencies include:

– Missouri Veterans Commission: $7.85 million for health care and services for military veterans and their families.
– Missouri State Public Defender: $7.85 million for legal assistance for low-income Missourians.
– Department of Health and Senior Services: $7.85 million for grants to increase access to drug addiction treatment, overdose prevention education, and support services for those with substance use disorders.
