CAMPBELL, Mo. (KBSI) – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the City of Campbell combined visions to open City of Campbell Shooting Range Complex in Dunklin County.

The project began with a request from former mayor Raymond Gunter to the MDC.

According to MDC Hunter Education and Shooting Range Coordinator Justin McGuire, the goal is to provide a safe place to practice shooting. The complex contains 20-foot backstops, 8-foot side berms, and covered areas and projectile containment.

Additionally there will be 100- and 50-yard rifle/pistol ranges, 25-yard pistol ranges, a trap field, an archery range, and restroom facilities.

In 2021 the MDC dedicated the site five years after the project planning began. More than $370,000 has been devoted to the project, according to MDC.
