MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A mobile home hauler created a traffic back up along Interstate 24 westbound at the 29 mile marker in the Tennessee River Bridge work zone Tuesday morning.

The mobile home took out traffic barrels along the work zone where KYTC crews and a contractor are repairing potholes near the work zone exit point, according to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

It created a traffic back up that may take some time to clear.

Westbound drivers on I-24 should consider a self-detour via the Grand Rivers Exit 31 interchange to KY 453 South to take U.S. 62 West to return to I-24 at the Calvert City Exit 27 interchange.

As a reminder, the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge work zone has an 8.5 ft. load width restriction. I-24 westbound traffic is restricted to one lane into Friday morning with overnight westbound closures for pothole repairs 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., again tonight.
