MoDOT seeks public input on long-range transportation plan

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Department of Transportation has launched a statewide survey to gather public input on the state’s transportation priorities as it updates its Long-Range Transportation Plan and State Freight and Rail Plan.

The survey, which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, allows Missourians to help inform the priorities and goals of both plans. It can be accessed online through April 30.

“We want to hear directly from those who use the transportation system and how it’s working for communities across the state,” said MoDOT Director Ed Hassinger.

The Long-Range Transportation Plan serves as a roadmap for the state’s transportation network, addressing evolving needs and setting priorities. The State Freight and Rail Plan assesses Missouri’s freight and passenger rail systems and determines short-term and long-term goals for improving infrastructure.

Drafts of the plans will be available for public comment in early 2026, with final plans presented to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for review later that year.
