MoDOT to hold public meeting on Route D improvements in Farmington

SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on Sept. 4 to discuss improvements to Route D (North Washington Street) in Farmington.

The meeting will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Farmington Fire Department, 222 East Columbia St.

The project includes widening Route D, extending the right-turn lane, rebuilding the roadway, and improving drainage. The box culvert crossing Route D near Route 32 will also be extended.

Additionally, pedestrian facilities on the east side of Route D will be updated to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

Two alternatives for traffic impacts during the project will be presented during the meeting: closing Route D or staging construction to keep the road open.

Construction is expected to begin in summer 2027, with completion anticipated by fall 2028.
