More than $4.4 million in transportation funding for KY roadways
FRANKFORT, Ky. (KBSI) – More than $4.4 million will go to 50.4 miles of Kentucky roads to repair and boost roadway safety.
The transportation funding will go toward 31 local governments, 26 counties and five cities.
The funding is administered through the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, for a total of $4,479,055.
“This project has been one of the most rewarding projects to secure funding for in my time as Judge,” said Breathitt County Judge Executive Jeff Noble.
- Ballard County
- $140,000 to resurface Shelby Road
- Hickman County
- $48,070 to resurface Cox Road.
- $30,580 to resurface Shelton Road.
- $10, 890 to resurface Reilly Road.
Other funds will go to projects such as slide repairs, installation of guard rails, storm drain improvements and an award to Fleming County Fiscal Court for a bridge repair on Branch Brothers Road. All projects submitted for Municipal Aid were reviewed by staff in each of the 12 Department of Highways districts, who considered such factors as safety, traffic volume and economic impact.
