Motorists warned to exercise caution amid flash flooding

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – With continued rainfall and flash flooding expected throughout the day, the Sheriff’s Department is urging motorists to exercise extreme caution while traveling.
Authorities are reminding drivers to follow the “turn around, don’t drown” mantra, as even shallow moving water can be deadly.
Last night, deputies, along with the West Marshall Fire Department and Marshall County Rescue Squad, rescued a stranded motorist on Nance Lane.
Officials warn that as little as one foot of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the roadway.
