Mount Vernon police, fire departments investigating arson fire at store

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (KBSI) – Mount Vernon fire and police departments are investigating a fire at a bathroom at the Walmart Supercenter.

Firefighters and police officers responded to the Walmart Supercenter at 110 South Davidson Drive on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:46 p.m. for a report of a fire which in a bathroom of the store.

The fire was reported to have already been put out. There were no injuries.

Investigators at the scene began an investigation into the cause of the fire.

and arson is being suspected.

A crime scene technician from the Mt. Vernon Police Department responded to assist an arson investigator from the Mt. Vernon Fire Department.

The investigation into the fire is active. Investigators are waiting on video from the store to attempt and identify those involved.
