MSHP warns of frozen lake dangers after close call
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI., (KBSI) — Authorities are warning of the dangers of frozen lakes and ponds, even in frigid temperatures.
On Tuesday, a person walking their dog discovered footsteps leading to a hole in the ice. Missouri state troopers assisted the Osage County Sheriff’s Office in verifying that no one was trapped beneath the surface.
Officials caution that ice can be unpredictable and deceptively safe, emphasizing the importance of exercising caution when near frozen bodies of water.
