Mt. Vernon man arrested in connection with death investigation

MT. VERNON, Ill., (KBSI) — Authorities responded to a domestic disturbance with shots fired at a Mt. Vernon residence on Friday, Feb. 21, at 1:21 p.m.
Deputies and detectives found the caller, 61-year-old Leslie D. Borah, and searched the property, locating 33-year-old Adam M. Borah unresponsive. Jefferson County Coroner Roger Hayse declared Adam deceased.
Leslie Borah was arrested on a charge of unlawful concealing of a death and released with a mandatory court appearance.
The investigation is ongoing, with an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (618) 244-8004 or Crimestoppers at (618) 242-8577.
Leslie Borah is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
