Multiple firefighters injured while battling large fire in uptown Jackson
JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — A large commercial fire in Uptown Jackson has injured three firefighters, with one hospitalized, according to Jackson Fire Rescue Captain Michael Gentry.
Multiple fire departments from the area are assisting the Jackson Fire Department in battling the blaze on the 100 block of High Street.
At least 60 firefighters from 12 departments, including Scott City, Fruitland and Cape Girardeau, are on the scene.
The fire has affected several businesses, including Sweetheart Florist, Fringe Clothing Boutique and more.
High Street is closed while the response is ongoing. Authorities are asking the public to avoid and clear off the area to allow emergency crews continue their work.
