Murphysboro High School singers selected for White House holiday performance

MURPHYSBORO, Ill., (KBSI) — The Murphysboro High School Madrigal Singers have been selected to perform at the White House Holiday Open House in December, according to choir director Jessica White.
White said the group was chosen from more than 1,000 auditions. An exact performance date has not been announced.
“To say this is an incredible honor is an understatement,” White said. “For our students to share their music in the White House, surrounded by the history and tradition of the holiday season, is something they will remember for the rest of their lives.”
White credited the students’ hard work and dedication and thanked their families, the school district and the Murphysboro community for supporting the choir program.
“This December, we’ll be taking a little piece of Murphysboro all the way to Washington, D.C.,” she said.
