Murray man arrested after police say K-9 finds methamphetamine during traffic stop

MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Murray man is facing drug charges after police say a K-9 alerted officers to narcotics during a traffic stop.

According to the Murray Police Department, an officer stopped a vehicle on North 12th Street around 12:36 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7.

During the stop, police K-9 Bonnie alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and reported finding methamphetamine.

Police arrested the driver, 45-year-old Jacob Thweatt of Murray.

Thweatt was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance involving methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Murray Police Department noted that all people charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
