Murray man arrested in truck theft, school burglary investigation

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Murray man has been arrested in connection with a vehicle theft and burglary investigation spanning Kentucky and Tennessee, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Steven Price, 43, was arrested June 15 on a Calloway County warrant stemming from an incident reported April 29.

Investigators allege Price stole a truck from the Crossland Road area in Calloway County. During the investigation, deputies determined Price later entered an elementary school in the county and removed multiple items, placing them into a large trash bag and backpack.

The stolen truck was recovered the following day at Cypress Bay in Henry County, Tennessee. Investigators believe Price also stole a boat from that location.

In addition to charges filed in Kentucky, Price is facing criminal charges in Tennessee related to the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Price is charged in Calloway County with:

* Third-degree burglary, a Class D felony;
* Theft by unlawful taking of an automobile valued between $1,000 and $10,000, a Class D felony; and
* Theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $1,000 and $10,000, a Class D felony.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
