Murray man charged with attempted murder after woman found shot

MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Murray man is facing an attempted murder charge following a shooting that left a woman injured Sunday.
Murray police responded Aug. 17 to a home on Sunset Drive, where officers found an adult woman with an apparent gunshot wound.
Police said 45-year-old Russell Cleaver of Murray was found at the scene and detained.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Police did not release information about her condition.
Cleaver was later charged with attempted murder and taken to the Calloway County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
Charges are allegations, and Cleaver is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
