Murray man charged with first-degree strangulation

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) — An 18-year-old Murray man has been charged with first-degree strangulation following an investigation into an alleged assault earlier this year.
According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Garner was charged Aug. 4 while being held at the Calloway County Detention Center on unrelated charges.
Investigators said the charge stems from an ongoing investigation into an altercation that allegedly occurred in June 2026.
During the investigation, detectives determined Garner allegedly strangled another individual.
Garner is charged with first-degree strangulation, a Class C felony.
The investigation remains ongoing.
