Murray man facing attempted murder, other charges after 1 shot in legs
MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Murray man faces several charges after police say he shot a person in the legs.
The Murray Police Department responded to the 400 block of South 9th Street on Sunday, July 9 at 12:47 a.m. in regards to a shooting.
Officers found a female victim who had gunshot injuries to her legs. She was taken to the Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment.
Investigators identified a suspect, who was later stopped in Riviera Courts and taken into custody by Calloway County Sheriffs Deputies and MPD officers. MPD was also assisted by Calloway County Fire Rescue.
Michael Wayson, 35, of Murray faces charges of three counts of attempted murder, two counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree, one count of possession of a handgun by convicted felon and one count of tampering with physical evidence.
