Murray Police Department warn of a scam

MURRAY, KY (KBSI) – On May 11th, the Murray Police Department said they had received calls from local businesses stating that someone had called them pretending to be with the police department. The caller stated they were a detective with the raud department, and was assisting the store manager with their payroll. When the employee questioned what manager he was assisting, he disconnected the call.
They warn people that with the advancement in technology, has head to more individuals falling victim to a variety of financial crimes.
If you receive a call like this, your best practice is to hang up and call the non-emergency line for your local law enforcement agency.
