Murray woman facing drug charges after traffic stop

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Murray woman faces drug and other charges after a traffic stop on Friday.
Megan Newberry, 34, of Murray faces charges of operating a vehicle with expired license, failure of non-owner operator to maintain insurance 1st offense, possession of controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine), possession of controlled substance not in proper container 1st offense and possession of controlled substance 1st degree first offense (drug unspecified).
Deputies conducted a traffic stop at N. 12th Street and Diuguid Drive in Murray on June 30 around 8 p.m.
The driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and multiple schedule II narcotics, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
She was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
