National DEA Prescription Drug Take Back April 27 in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Mo., (KBSI)- The Drug Enforcement Administration announces its 26th Annual Prescription Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for April 27th, 2024.
The public can drop off potentially dangerous prescription medications at the lobby of the Carbondale Police Department (501 South Washington Street, Carbondale) on Saturday, April 27th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Accepted – Tablets, Capsules, Patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs.
Not Accepted – Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, and other sharps and illegal drugs.
DEA will continue to accept vaping devices and cartridges at its drop-off locations provided lithium batteries are removed.
Helping people dispose of potentially harmful prescription drugs is just one way the DEA and the City of Carbondale Police Department are working to reduce addiction and stem overdose deaths.
