Pedestrian seriously injured after struck by vehicle near Poplar Bluff

BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A woman walking across the road was struck and injured by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Butler County.

Samantha D. Jones, 35, of Naylor was crossing Hwy. 142 and ran into the path of a 2008 Dodge Avenger driven by Richard E. Towns, 52, of Poplar Bluff, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

It happened around 10 a.m. on Hwy. 142 three miles south of Poplar Bluff.

Jones sustained serious injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
