Nerf wars, inflatables and more at Mother Son Game Night in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Park & Recreation Department held a Mother Son Game Night on Friday, March 18 at the Sportsplex.

The game night consisted of games, inflatables, archery, batting cages, nerf wars and more.

There was a limit of 750 participants, but the limit was increased to 900 due to the popularity of the event.

“This is one of the most fun things we do each year. Everyone runs around with a big smile on their face. The moms and the kids love the event,” said Heather Davis, the Sportsplex facilities supervisor.

Many of the mothers found the event to be a good bonding experience with their children.

“I think it’s fun to see other moms interacting with their sons. It’s fun to spend time with them and get to know them. This is just a fun, organized way to do that,” explained Julie, a mother participating with her son in the event.

“We had so much fun, we will be back again,” said Amber, another mother attending the event with her son.
