New art sculpture in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau has a new piece of jewelry to show off. A public sculpture in downtown Cape sits on Broadway.

An event was put on by the City of Cape and Old Town Cape. Musicians and artists gathered for the new display and celebrated with food and a little bit of music.

“It’s great,” said Cape Girardeau Mayor Stacy Kinder. “It’s a great day to be living in Cape. This is what it’s all about. The weather is nice. The event is so great. It obviously takes a lot of people to put together but we’re so fortunate that we have so many volunteers and interested people, great artists to put it all together.”

The new sculpture is on the corner of Broadway and Fountain in downtown Cape Girardeau.
