New Madrid County couple face murder charges in infant’s meth-related death
NEW MADRID Co. Mo., (KBSI)- Zackery Murphy and Jazzmine Oehlert, parents of a 3-month-old baby who died in August, have been charged with second-degree murder. The amended charges were filed by the prosecutor on September 24.
According to court documents, toxicology results revealed the infant’s cause of death as methamphetamine intoxication.
Murphy and Oehlert were previously facing charges related to the child’s death. The upgraded charges now include second-degree murder.
