New mayor, council members sworn in at Cape Girardeau City Hall

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Cape Girardeau’s newly elected mayor and several city council members were sworn into office during a City Council meeting Monday night.
Robbie Guard took the oath of office as mayor, along with newly elected representatives for Wards 1, 2 and 6. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the City Council chambers at City Hall, located at 44 N. Lorimier St.
The ceremony marked the official start of new terms for the city’s leadership, as the mayor and council members assume their roles in guiding local government and addressing community priorities. Officials and attendees gathered in the council room to witness the transition and recognize the incoming leadership.
